Zack and Daisy appointed Football and Ski captains

Two Preparatory School pupils have received recognition for their leadership qualities with prominent roles within a sporting environment.

Zack Coverley and Daisy Yates, Year 6 pupils at Rydal Penrhos, have been awarded captaincy roles in football and skiing respectively by Head of Boys’ Games Jamie McLeod after impressing considerably during the assessment process.

The pair have already achieved significant success during their initial spell within their roles, with Daisy leading the U12 squad to yet another Welsh Schools’ Championship following an outstanding effort on the slopes in Llangranog.

Zack, whose father Neil is the current assistant manager at Evo-Stik League side Colwyn Bay, has also demonstrated his fine talent at a series of recent fixtures and led the Rydal Penrhos U11 side to an impressive Plate victory at a tournament featuring schools across Cheshire and the North West at The Firs School prior to the half term break.

Mr McLeod, said: “Both Zack and Daisy are very popular member of their year group and within the Prep School community in general, and they have taken to their new roles absolutely seamlessly which is a testament to their ability to adapt and serve as inspiration to their peers.

“We are very proud of our rich sporting success here at the Prep School, and it is fantastic to see two fantastic pupils adding their name to the long list that have thrived in captaincy roles.

“Hopefully this will stand them in good stead in terms of their leadership techniques in later life as they progress through their education and beyond.”
