Lower School pupils at Rydal Penrhos got the chance to build team spirit and gain new experiences as part of a special event.
The school’s Year 7 contingent took part in their annual residential prior to the half term break, which saw the group take part in a series of fun-filled activities designed to test their limits and build teamwork during the initial stage of the Senior School life.
An Ocean Discovery trip to the Conway Centre was a notable highlight of the two-day event, with a group also descending on North Wales Golf Club in Llandudno for coaching sessions that involved everything from putting to short game work.
Head of Science Dave Robson took some thrill-seeking pupils on a special Mountain Biking session, and aspiring sailors spent a day honing their skills at the impressive Plas Menai facility.
Other activities included Beach Safety and Surfing, and another outstanding addition to the calendar was a climbing session that brought the very beat out of each pupil taking part.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “Our Year 7 group are tremendously enthusiastic and have started life at Rydal Penrhos’ senior site in such a positive way, and they represented themselves superbly during a very challenging but fantastic residential.
“This will no doubt do their confidence and ability to work together on the challenges that lie ahead during the remainder of their school experience the world of good, and I would like to commend each of them on their outstanding commitment and approach to the residential scheme.”
