A large number of Year 6 pupils achieved success as part of Rydal Penrhos’ Spelling Challenge.
Preparatory School staff devised a new spelling challenge for pupils last year, which has three different levels each with 110 words.
The pupils have been encouraged to work towards their incremental targets of Gold, Silver and Bronze within each stage, and a plethora of certificates have already been issued as a result of their hard work since the initiative began.
Head Boy Ellis Lister-Brookes is now just two steps away from completing the scheme after securing his Stage Three Bronze Award, with William Hibbert and Maggie McDuff claiming their Stage Two Silver Awards from their recent assessments.
Pippa Roberts and Daisy Yates came through their Stage One Silver Awards with flying colours, and rounding off the achievements was Freddie MacLaverty, who secured his Stage One Bronze.
Each pupil received a certificate acknowledging their success at Rydal Penrhos’ weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, February 15.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “It is always fantastic to hear about the ongoing achievements from those taking part in our Spelling Challenge, and it is especially encouraging to see our older pupils leading by example during what is a very busy time for them.
“They are tremendous role models for those looking to follow in their footsteps, both from an academic perspective and with their leadership and support on a daily basis.”
