Year 6 bring curtain down at Cafe Dolphin showcase

A Preparatory School year group took the stage together for the final time at a special event prior to the summer break.

The Year 6 pupils wowed the audience in attendance for their annual Café Dolphin showcase, which featured a number of exceptional performances to keep the crowd thoroughly entertained throughout.

A dance routine kicked off proceedings, before Harrison McKinnel and Rayan Kashif lent their support to the event with Harp and Guitar solos.

Piano efforts from Ethan Akroyd and Matthew Johnson also caught the eye, as did a hilarious cinema sketch involving a number of different pupils.

Jonah Craddock, James Gilman and Will Rutherford brought a taste of their Year 6 play Aladdin to the show with a pair of singing performances, with other vocal pieces coming from Henry Hibbert, Rayan and the outstanding Perry Williams.

Head Boy James also performed on his own with a guitar and singing piece, with the highly anticipated synchronised swimming segment performed flawlessly.

The event concluded with a special finale from Isabella Peevor, Cerys Williams, Gabriele Subkovaite and Ella Northcott, who were joined on stage by the entire Year 6 contingent for a song reflecting their time at the Prep School based on the Lukas Graham smash hit ‘7 Years’.

Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “This was a truly outstanding way for the Year 6 group to end their time performing on stage here at Rydal Penrhos, and they deserve enormous credit for giving their all and making Café Dolphin so entertaining for everyone that came along.

“Their commitment and dedication throughout the rehearsal process has been one of the shining lights of their final year here, and we wish them all the very best of luck as they look to make their mark at the Senior School in September.”
