A Preparatory School year group have been praised for their outstanding work during a recent Science project.
The Year 5 contingent at Rydal Penrhos were tasked with producing their very own Lava Lamps from what they have taken on board in the classroom during lessons with teacher Suzanne Wareing, which resulted in some exceptional individual creations thanks to their sterling efforts.
This was part of their learning surrounding separating mixtures and used household items as the materials for the culmination of the topic in question.
They did this using oil and water and then their activation ingredient, which allowed the water to pass through the oil in a bubble and back to the bottom again.
Each member of the year group grasped the thought-provoking task incredibly well and the Lava Lamps are now on display within the Prep School science department.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “This was a very testing but exciting project for our Year 5, who took it on with their customary enthusiasm and determination that has been a cornerstone of their success during the academic year.
“Mrs Wareing has been a real asset to us here at Rydal Penrhos since arriving and projects such as this do wonders in terms of a child’s overall development and enhancing their creativity.”
