Year 4 pupils were the latest group to participate in a special reading initiative at Rydal Penrhos.
The second Prep School family reading session took place on Thursday, September 28, which coincided with National Poetry Day.
The scheme has been implemented with the aim of encouraging reading outside of classroom hours, in addition to improve speech in-front of an audience.
This is one of a plethora of new learning methods that have been implemented throughout Rydal Penrhos’ Prep and Senior sites as the school continues to reap the benefits from Headmaster Simon Smith’s five tenets of Learning, Living, Leading, Listening and Location.
A large number of parents attended the event for the class of Catherine Culver, which saw them aid their children with their reading of some of their favourite novels.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “It was fantastic to see so many parents in attendance for the second of our family reading sessions, which has really got off to a great start.
“We take a great deal of pride in getting our parents involved in as many things related to their child’s education as we possibly can, and this is something they take full advantage of.
“Hopefully this will continue long into the future and I look forward to welcoming even more of our parents for future sessions.”
