Year 3 and 4 take part in annual residential at The Towers

Two Preparatory School year groups were tested to their limits at a specially organised event this week.

The Year 3 and 4 groups travelled to The Towers Outdoor Learning Centre as part of their annual residential from Monday, April 16 until Tuesday 17, which is situated in the beautiful region of Capel Curig.

During their stay, each pupil was tested with a series of different outdoor activities, which included hill walking around the picturesque Snowdonia mountains, kayaking and tackling an obstacle course situated at the site.

They also got the chance to participate in abseiling, gorge walking and visit an underground cave as part of their trip.

The group worked incredibly hard under the guidance of both Rydal Penrhos’ staff and qualified instructors at the centre, and also demonstrated an incredible willingness to support one another with a view to achieving their overall objectives.

This is the latest in a series of series of educational trips put on by the Prep School throughout the academic year, which are designed to enhance learning in an outdoor environment and improve characteristics such as teamwork and communication.

Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “This was a very worthwhile residential trip for our Year 3 and 4 pupils, who represented Rydal Penrhos in a very impressive fashion once again.

“They embraced each challenge and really thrived both individually and as a group, and I would like to thank the centre for having us and our staff for their continued commitment.”
