A group of Preparatory School pupils got to sample life as a Premier League footballer thanks to an ongoing initiative.
Year 1 pupils at Rydal Penrhos took a trip to the Manchester City FC Academy Complex on Friday, September 29 which is situated just a stone’s throw away from the Citizens’ Etihad Stadium.
The budding footballers took part in an IAPS Football Festival at the complex, which was run under the watchful eye of academy coaches who were also on hand to lend some helpful tips to the budding stars.
During the day pupils went through a number of drills designed to improve their skills, before putting their new moves to the test in a series of short games.
All pupils that took part received a certificate acknowledging their efforts.
This is the latest in a series of visits by Rydal Penrhos to the site, which continues the strong links between the school and club in recent years.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “This is a fantastic way for our pupils to develop their skills, and I would like to thank everyone at Manchester City for inviting us up to the football festival once again.
“We are very proud of our association with such a world renowned club, and I know that our pupils get an enormous amount out of it, so long may it continue.”
