Upper Sixth secure wealth of Speech Day prizes

A large number of Upper Sixth Form pupils at Rydal Penrhos were acknowledged for their outstanding contribution to life at the school with individual awards.

The creative nous of Nia Seenan and Finola Johnson saw them jointly share the Edwards Prize for Art, with the latter also securing the Business Prize thanks to her sterling efforts during the module.

Isabelle Williams secured the Art Photography Prize, and Head Girl Gowri Pradeep managed to attain the Dr Margaret Sutton Prize for Biology and the Osborn Prize for Mathematics during an incredible final few months for the aspiring doctor.

The BTEC Applied Science prize was awarded to Laura O’Kelly, with Grace Ormerod taking home the BTEC Business Prize.

Imogen Camp, who received a conditional offer from Cambridge University pending the necessary A-level results this summer, came away with the Warrington Yorke Prize for Chemistry, the Further Mathematics Prize and the Britton Prize for Physics to further highlight her incredible academic prowess.

The Kerfoot Prize for Chemistry went to Ivy Tun, with Ewan Luke attaining the Bradley Prize for Design and Technology and the Contribution to House Spirit accolade.

Outgoing Deputy Head Boy Miles Poller is now the proud owner of the Drama and Theatre Studies Prize, and departing Head Boy Nick Fiorita was awarded the Economics and Psychology Prize.

Justin Siaw achieved the English as a Foreign Language Prize thanks to his sterling determination, with the Margaret Holden Prize for English Literature going to Will Lynch.

Upper Sixth Former Ruby James was presented with the English Prize, and the influence of Venus Kwong was rewarded with the Richards Prize for Geography, the Cambridge Technical in Sport Prize and the Contribution to Sporting Life at the school distinction.

Rounding off the achievements from a Year 13 perspective was Josh Thomas, who won the Battersby Prize for History.
