Departing Sixth Form pupils at Rydal Penrhos got the chance to say goodbye in style at a special event.
The school hosted its annual Leavers’ Ball at the Kinmel Manor Hotel and Spa on Saturday, May 27, which is the culmination of their life at Rydal Penrhos.
The event, which is a way for Upper Sixth Form pupils to get together before they head off on their study leave, consisted of an evening meal plus a number of speakers including departing Deputy Head Boys’ Will Marston and Jack Sissons, who had the audience in laughter with their David Attenborough-inspired depiction of RGC Academy players Nick Dundee, Euan Humphries, Dan Owen and Adam Sabri.
Deputy Head Girls’ Adele Parry and Grace Patrick also gave a speech full of emotion during the festivities, before parents, staff and pupils partied the night away.
The ball rounded off an action packed day for the Rydal Penrhos community, with the school’s Speech Day and annual Dolphins cricket clash taking place earlier in the afternoon.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “The Leavers’ Ball is always one of the most highly anticipated events on the school calendar and once again it did not disappoint.
“This year’s group are an immensely talented bunch and everyone at Rydal Penrhos is going to miss them, but we are also extremely appreciative of the contribution they have made to the school during their time here.”
