Rydal Penrhos’ Uganda team are looking for donations in relation to a special charity drive ahead of their upcoming charity mission.
The group have launched a Shoe Appeal for the children that are in “desperate” need of “comfortable and durable” footwear for general day-to-day life.
Any unwanted shoes that are in good condition are required, and they will all be packaged and sent to Hope Street Uganda, which was one of the areas that the group visited during the summer on their charity mission to the country.
Head of Middle School Paul Sanders will be leading the 2019 trip after taking over from the Reverend Nick Sissons, with the contingent set to depart next weekend following the end of their school commitments.
Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding, said: “Our Uganda trip is always a life-changing experience for those, and this year’s group looking to make another valuable contribution to the incredible work going on at the areas we are involved in.
“Seeing for themselves the difficulties children in the country has really hit home in the past, and hopefully the shoe appeal will be an enormous success with donations from staff, pupils and parents.”
Anyone who wishes to donate shoes or trainers to the appeal can leave items at the Senior School reception.
