Baking enthusiasts at Rydal Penrhos put their best foot forward as part of a special competition.
The Prep School pupils took to the kitchen as part of the Great Rydal Penrhos BakingMad Bake Off, where they were tasked with coming up with a creation ahead of the Friends of Rydal Penrhos Summer Fair on Tuesday, June 27.
All proceeds from their cakes will go towards projects at the school, in addition to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).
The Silver Spoon Company kindly sponsored this event and donated hampers for first, second and third place. Prizes will also be awarded for the best entry in each form
After domestic bursar Julie Chmara, chair of FORPA Debbie McKinnel and Year 2 teacher Gaynor Davies ran the rule over the entries, a host of winners were announced, with Martha Hind claiming the Year 6 and overall prize for her Art-themed cakes.
Cerys Williams took the Year 5 prize and second place overall, while Angus Holland claimed the Year 1 honour in addition to third spot.
Others to receive recognition were Ethan Reeves (Reception), Martha-Rose Johnson (Year 2), Eloise Brown (Year 3), Violet Roberts (Year 4) and Isabel Stubbings (Year 5).
Prep School head Roger McDuff, said: “Our Great BakingMad Bake Off brought with some fantastic creations, and I would like to congratulate not only the selected winners, but to all of our pupils that took the time to send in their entries.
“I know the cakes were equally well received at the Summer Fair, which raised a significant amount for projects at the school and the Motor Neurone Disease Foundation.”
