The Balance: Rob Hall's Catfish and the Bottlemen release third album

A former Rydal Penrhos pupil has released a new album as part of his involvement with chart-topping band Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Rob Hall, who left the school in 2011, is a drummer with the Llandudno four-piece, who released their highly-anticipated third album entitled The Balance last week.

There are a host of outstanding tracks on the 12-song record, which has drawn rave reviews from the music media.

One review, said: “It’s important to acknowledge the consistency of Catfish and the Bottlemen’s music — nothing about their music is ever shocking and surprising. We never expect to be taken aback because they’ve managed to perfect the sound and take this genre of music for themselves — very few bands can replicate what they’ve done.

“Few artists feel allowed to remain the same throughout their careers, but Catfish and the Bottlemen have set a new precedent for others — they don’t feel obligated to change everything about themselves for their fans; people love them for their sound.”

The group have also announced a UK tour that is set to take place in the autumn, which will see the Bottlemen play to adoring fans across the country during the four-gig schedule that begins on November 4 at the Birmingham Arena.

This will be followed by a performance at the Newcastle Tuilita Arena on November 5, before the Bottlemen perform a mini-homecoming gig at the Liverpool M&S Bank Arena on November 10.

They conclude their four-date tour with a gig at Leeds First Direct Arena on November 11.
