Head of Girls' Games Nicky Head returns with her weekly Tennis round-up, which saw a number of encouraging performances as a number of year groups continue to show fantastic progression as the season draws to a close.
The Conwy U13 tennis tournament took place on Tuesday, the boys’ competition was split into two groups with our team playing St David's College and Bryn Elian school.
Despite some excellent rallies and close games, our four boys were unsuccessful in their competition.
The girls’ team, however, beat St David’s and Eirias High School, only losing to the eventual winners Emrys Ap Iwan.
Finishing as runners-up, they now go on to represent Conwy in the North West Wales final next week.
On Saturday the U13 and U15 tennis teams played at home against the Grange.
This was a very close fixture with many of the matches lost or won by just one game. Both U15's pairs won and lost a match with the overall score being a 2-2 draw.
The U13's won six of their games but The Grange narrowly won seven matches. A fantastic morning of tennis by all, a true testament of the progress each player has made this term.
