Head of Girls' Games Nicky Head returns with her weekly Tennis round-up, which saw a number of encouraging performances from the U13 A and B teams against King's School Chester, which also saw a Prep School star test her skills against older and more experienced opposition for the first time.
The U13A and B team travelled to King's Chester to play four 20 minute timed games.
In the U13B fixture Lily Davies and Eve Durrans played some excellent rallies attacking the ball at the net winning match points off the volley.
Arianna Milligan and Ella James worked well as a pair with strong serves and powerful returns, which led to them winning all four of their matches. With promising games from Martha Hind, Melissa Vos and Ada Vonbank and Year 6 pupil Jasmin Beckett-Donald (who agreed to play on Saturday morning) the team drew with King's eight games a-piece.
The U13A's had also had a pleasing performance, with many of the matches going to deuce for Sophie Madden and Alys Peake Jones. Charlotte and Emma won 2 of their matches.
Despite the close games, King's won 11 games to 6.
