Talented musicians gear up for Year 7-9 Concert

Talented musicians at Rydal Penrhos will take to the stage for a special event.

The school will be holding its highly anticipated Year 7-9 Concert on Wednesday, June 14, and a host of gifted pupils are scheduled to perform at the showcase.

The Pre-Concert, which begins at 6pm, will open with Eliso Grilo performing the hit One Day, before the trio of Josh Stewart, Niall Richardson and Noah Langford give us their rendition of The Stolen Dance.

Sydney Johnson, Emil Mohr and Mia Cole will be treating the audience to Stressed out, with music sensations Niamh Cook, Alicia Zhou and Juan Rajagopal also demonstrating their immense promise.

The concert itself will begin with a performance from National Eisteddfod winner Tegid Goodman-Jones, before our Italian Summer Programme visitors will be singing Long War (From ‘The Odyssey’).

The sister-brother combination of Eleanor and Jonathan Osbourne will duet with the song Seventeen, with Harry Grocott, Beau Holden, Isabel Bateson, Adrian Lewis and Bella Rutherford will also be showcasing their skills in a range of genres.

During the second half there will be a number of collective performances from different year groups, in addition to a highly anticipated duet involving Teddy Roberts and Richard Wolfendale.

Kevin Farrell is set to thrill the audience with a piano and vocal piece, and Emma Hourihane’s version of Silent Worship is sure to be another highlight.

Rounding off the individual performances will be Year 7 pupil Ethan Bytheway, with the concert concluding with the whole Year 7-9 group singing Three Little Birds and Human.

Director of Music Pete Williams, said: “It promises to be another fantastic concert featuring some of the very best musical talent we have here at Rydal Penrhos, and hopefully as many people as possible will attend so they can see for themselves the fine work that each pupil is putting in during the year.”
