Staff and pupils came together for a special event as part of a week-long initiative at Rydal Penrhos.
In the latest activity to celebrate the school’s European Languages Week, Sixth Form pupils Elysia Gilman, Daniel Pearce, Ben Gibson and Luca Leggieri sat down with Modern Foreign Languages staff members and gap year students for a Linguists’ Lunch on Wednesday, September 27.
They were given five-star treatment by dining room staff during their lunch, and this was the latest in a series of activities being run by the department throughout the week, which coincided with the European Day of Languages on Tuesday, September 26.
Pupils have taken part in French games, Welsh hymn translation and sampled some culinary delights in the form of Spanish paella and German waffles.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “This was another event which highlighted the fantastic work being done by our Modern Foreign Languages department, who have really grabbed the attention of the entire Rydal Penrhos community during the week so far.
“In an ever changing world the need to embrace different languages grows ever more significant, and our wide ranging languages curriculum is something that has become extremely beneficial to our pupils.”
