Spelling Challenge scheme brings further outstanding results

A large number of Preparatory School pupils have achieved success as part of an ongoing learning initiative.

Rydal Penrhos staff devised a new spelling challenge for pupils last year, which has three different levels each with 110 words.

The pupils have been encouraged to work towards their incremental targets of Gold, Silver and Bronze within each stage, and a plethora of certificates have already been issued as a result of their hard work since the initiative began.

Head Girl Grace Watkins is now just two steps away from completing the challenge after securing her Stage Three Bronze Award, with Erin Mart and Oscar Jewsbury continuing their excellent start by achieving Stage One Gold accolades.

Kenzie Livingstone scooped her Stage One Silver Award thanks to her outstanding recent improvement, and rounding off the success were Charlie Lister-Brookes, Finlay Brown and Ifana Wyn Jones, who notched their first success with Stage One Bronze recognition.

Each pupil received their certificates from Executive Principal John Waszek and Prep School Head Alison Hind at Rydal Penrhos’ weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, March 15.

Mrs Hind, said: “The diverse range of year groups during our latest batch of Spelling Challenge successes is a testament to how well received the initiative has been and continues to be within our Prep School community.

“They all work enormously hard in the lead-up to their respective assessments, and hopefully this is just the start of things to come for our younger pupils.”
