Rydal Penrhos has confirmed its Netball captain for the forthcoming season.
Head of Girls’ Games Nicky Head announced that Soumini Peeka, an Upper Sixth pupil at the school, will be leading the side through the term as they look to build on a positive start.
The 17-year-old was formally introduced to her role on Monday, January 23, where she received a handshake from new Headmaster Simon Smith at Assembly.
It promises to be another exciting season across all age groups for Rydal Penrhos’ budding stars, who have begun the season with a series of fine performances.
Soumini, who joined the school in January 2014, is a very gifted player who played a significant role in the first VII’s success on their recent tour of Greece, where they were coached by Welsh captain and former pupil Suzy Drane.
The new leader will look to inspire her side as they embark on a number of fixtures in the coming weeks, which will see them take on the likes of Moreton Hall, Liverpool College, Ellesmere College and The Grange School in the coming weeks.
