Preparatory School swimming stars battled it out for house points at an exciting competition.
Rydal Penrhos’ annual Prep Swimming Gala took place on Tuesday, May 22, which saw a host of superb individual and relay displays throughout.
After a fiercely competitive afternoon of action, Snowdon House continued their recent dominance with a well-deserved victory, accumulating 135 points pip their rivals to the crown.
Pembroke narrowly missed out on top spot and were just seven behind the eventual winners on 128, while Brecon rounded off the placings with 114.
Among the standout performers from the competition were Cieran Milligan, Jasmin Beckett-Donald, Ethan Akroyd and Liam Farrell, while younger pupils who also thrived included Lily Copeland and Charlotte Payne.
It has been another year of fantastic success for Rydal Penrhos’ talented swimmers, who have all benefitted from the school’s specialist programme under the guidance of department head Maciej Ruszkowski.
This resulted in another standout showing at both the Urdd regional and national galas, continuing the Prep School’s rich success at the showcase,
Mr Ruszkowski, said: “As always, the standard of the Gala across all year groups was incredibly high, and I would like to personally congratulate each pupil that took part and gave their all to ensure the competition was another fantastic spectacle.
“We have a great deal of committed and talented swimmers at the Prep School who are learning all the time, and hopefully they can carry on progressing and achieve even further success in the future.”
