Snowdon claim Inter-House Rounders title

A Preparatory School academic House continued their superb run of results with another competition triumph.

Rydal Penrhos’ annual Inter-House Rounders competition took place on Tuesday, June 26 at a picturesque Plateau in the baking sunshine, which saw each House compete against each other in the hopes of securing the overall crown.

After a hugely competitive day of action, Snowdon continued their exceptional run of recent results by emerging victorious from the competition, and the House captain team of Jasmin Beckett-Donald, Elise Mazars and Gabriele Subkovaite picking up the trophy from Deputy Head Alison Hind at the Prep School’s final Celebration Assembly of the academic year on Friday, June 29.

There were a number of impressive individual contributions to Snowdon’s success, with Grace Watkins, Charlotte Payne, Sophie Edwards and Lily Copeland all performing well in very testing conditions due to the current heatwave.

This is the latest in a series of successes for Snowdon during the academic year in competitions including Swimming, Gymnastics and Netball, with the House also coming away with the coveted Prep School Sports Day crown.

Head of Boys’ Games Jamie McLeod, said: “This rounds off an immensely successful year of achievement for Snowdon House, who have been led superbly throughout by Jasmin, Elise and Gabriele.

“They have worked incredibly hard as a team and encouraged the young members of the group, but I would also like to give credit to everyone that competed and represented their respective houses in a very positive way once again.”
