A progressive skiing squad member at Rydal Penrhos has received an award in recognition of his application to the sport.
Llywelyn Cowell, an Upper Sixth Form pupil at the school, was acknowledged for his impressive performances on the slopes with the Most Improved Skiing Cup, and he received recognition for this achievement at an assembly on Monday, September 11.
The award was given to the 18-year-old as a result of not only his significant development as part of the Rydal Penrhos squad, but also his ability to lend his experience to younger pupils in the hope of seeing them emulate his triumphs.
This has served them well throughout the year in what has been another standout campaign which has seen the Prep School team crowned North Wales Championship winners this week.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Llywelyn has come on leaps and bounds in terms of his progression in the sport, and he was a very deserving winner of this year’s cup.
“Our skiing squad has been a huge asset to Rydal Penrhos and the sport has been embraced both by our Prep and Senior school pupils as they look to expand their experiences and try new things through our outstanding extra-curricular programme.
“Hopefully this will be a huge confidence boost for Llywelyn as he looks to gain further accolades in the future.”
