As part of a series of features leading up to our Sixth Form scholarship application deadline on Monday, November 12, we take a look at some of our current Year 12 and 13 pupils that have thrived thanks to their involvement with the scheme.
We begin with Art Scholar Tallulah Batley:
Tallulah joined the Rydal Penrhos community as a Year 7 pupil in 2013 on an Art scholarship thanks to her incredible potential and vision to create painting and sculptures of jaw-dropping quality.
The 16-year-old has fully immersed herself into a variety of different areas of school life, showing tremendous application to both her academic studies and co-curricular activities that resulted in some impressive milestones during her five-year stay at Rydal Penrhos.
Her outstanding academic application was reflected with some outstanding GCSE results earlier this summer, which saw Tallulah secured A* grades in Biology, Design Technology, Mathematics and an A in Chemistry as a result of her incredible efforts.
She also achieved a nine mark in Art and Design and English (first language), in addition to two seven scores in English Literature and Religious Studies in accordance with the new grading system.
Tallulah rounded off his exceptional exam performance with a Distinction in Additional Mathematics.
Her overall contribution to Mark Sherrington’s department saw the boarding pupil receive the Art and Design Prize from Rydal Penrhos’ annual Speech Day event earlier this year, and Tallulah is also a superbly talented Hockey goalkeeper within the school’s first XI set-up.
