A host of talented musicians blew the audience away at a recent event at Rydal Penrhos.
The school’s annual Intermediate Inter-House Music competition took place on Thursday, May 28, which was an absolutely staggering display of musical prowess.
Every performance was a triumph, which kicked off with Isobel Bateson and Niamh Smith producing outstanding separate vocal efforts.
Richard Wolfendale’s polished guitar solo was another highlight, while Hannah Davies’ incredible song from Ghost the Musical was simply flawless.
This was followed by two simply incredible piano solo efforts from Juan Rajagopal and Niamh Cook that had to be heard to be believed, with the duet from Beau Holden and Shruthi Ganapathi also bringing something to the overall competition.
Arthur Hind and Tegid Goodman-Jones also showcased their enormous gifts with polished performances, with Harry Grocott, Nicholas Riding and Megan Gibson all shining thanks to their respective piano pieces.
Director of Music Pete Williams had the impossible job of choosing a top three from the event, and after much deliberation, Osborn’s Juan was crowned the winner.
Tegid of Payne House was chosen in second spot with fellow house member Niamh Cook in third.
Mr Williams, said: “The competition was performed to such an incredibly high standard, and everyone in the audience was mesmerised by each performance which was especially pleasing.
“They all make my job very easy and congratulations go to each competitor for contributing to such an incredible event.”
