A group of budding sailors at Rydal Penrhos added to their growing list of accolades at a national competition.
The large school contingent travelled to Sedburgh last weekend to compete at the annual Northern Prep Schools’ Regatta, with four teams competed in the Gold Fleet.
After a highly competitive day of action, the trio of Hannah Gasem, Bella Rutherford and Emily Madden emerged victorious from the Senior Girls’ category after a rousing display saw them gain the crown.
There was further success in the form of Felix Corson, Noah Langford and Aidan Skinner, who came through a highly competitive Senior Boys’ race as one of the frontrunners and eventually finished in third spot.
In addition to the Senior School triumphs, the prep team of Llion Morris, Zac Roberts and Christian Cheesley demonstrated exceptional teamwork to secure runners-up spot in the Gold Fleet.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Yet again a number of our young sailors continue to show that they belong on the national stage, and is further proof of the fantastic work being done by our staff who help them get better every day.
“The sailing programme we offer here is very unique and you can see by all the recognition it has received just how well our pupils respond to it.”
