Rydal Penrhos’ Sailing staff will be holding a pair of special events for any parents wishing to know more about the department.
The Question and Answer meetings will give those in attendance the opportunity to speak with key members of staff regarding matters related to the thriving provision, which has been a part of school life for more than 60 years and has achieved a significant amount of regional, national and international success.
The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 12 at the Prep School’s Lyndon Library from 5.30pm, with Senior parents welcome to attend a special session in the Carnegie Room on Thursday, February 21 at the same time.
It has been a memorable few months for the school’s Sailing scheme, which recently received a prestigious accreditation from the Royal Yachting Association in recognition of its outstanding commitment to its pupils and community projects.
This allows Rydal Penrhos to host various courses under the RYA banner as a specialist Training Centre.
These include Dinghy Level One, Two and Three, in addition to Dinghy Seamanship skills and sailing with spinnakers.
They can also offer the Youth Sailing Scheme courses from stages 1-4, as well as Level One and Two Powerboat qualifications and a Safety Boat Course.
The school also boasts a wealth of British and Welsh squad members at various levels, which is a testament to the coaching they receive under the expert guidance of programme leader Max Todd and Dan Rippon.
