A host of sailing squad members took to the water for one of the most eagerly anticipated sporting events on the Rydal Penrhos calendar.
The school held its annual Regatta on the stunning Colwyn Bay coastline earlier this month, which saw a series of races take place over a two-day period to determine the overall winners of each category.
After conditions made things very difficult on the opening day, the second round of competition brought with it glorious weather which made for some outstanding performances across a variety of different age groups.
The Topper Fleet saw Llion Morris emerge victorious to continue his exceptional recent progress that has seen him once again selected to the Welsh national squad and the ITCA Great Britain U19 National Topper squad.
Another of the standout performers from the weekend was Aidan Skinner, who produced a fine effort to come away with the Laser title, with the pair of Felix Corson and Bella Rutherford taking home the RS500 event in fine style.
Rounding off the successes were the duo of Zac Hay and Noah Langford, who scooped the Feva crown to further outline the progress they have been making under the guidance of Rydal Penrhos’ dedicated Sailing staff led by programme leader Max Todd.
The Regatta also saw members of Llandudno Sailing Club join the event, which further strengthens the link between the school and the organisation.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Our Regatta is a fantastic showcase of the wealth of sailing talent we have here at Rydal Penrhos, and our staff do a wonderful job of not only organising the event, but in creating a friendly and encouraging atmosphere which enables each squad member to maximise their potential.”
