A host of talented sailors performed well in the first leg of a regional competition.
The talented group travelled to nearby Llandudno Sailing Club for the North Wales Club Youth Racing Circuit earlier this month, with many young sailors impressing considerably to record some strong finishes.
Leading the way was Year 7 pupil Llion Morris, with the RYA Cymru Wales youth squad member producing a fine performance to come away with first place in the Topper class, with Zac Hay also giving a good account of himself to cross the line in fifth.
Prep School pupil James Mann secured victory in the Tera fleet, while the improving Ellie Knight came fourth in the Optimist class.
The General Handicap fleet also brought with it significant achievements, with Liam Farrell coming second, Aiden Skinner fourth and the team of Freddie MacLaverty and Keira Luke in fifth.
The young hopefuls will be hoping to emulate their fine achievements in the next leg of the circuit, which takes place at Holyhead Sailing Club on Saturday, June 23.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “This was a very encouraging start to the circuit for our talented young sailors, who are gaining valuable experience in a competitive environment that is going to do wonders for their confidence and overall development.
“Hopefully they can take a great source of encouragement from their efforts and push on to bigger and better things as the competition progresses, and everyone at Rydal Penrhos wishes them the very best of luck.”
