Rydal Penrhos’ aspiring young sailors will get the chance to hone their skills at a series of special events prior to the school season.
Programme administrator Petrina Blomeley revealed three pre-season dates to ensure each participant is full prepared for what is expected to be a busy summer of action across the region and beyond.
This will begin on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday 7 with a Senior sailing and surfing weekend, before the Performance Sailing group (RYA Level 3 or above) will take to the water on Thursday 11 and Friday 12.
The training sessions will also include a two-day Prep School event, which will take place on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17, with all ages and abilities welcome to attend.
The school’s sailing department is now fully accredited by the Royal Yachting Association, which allows them to host various courses under the RYA banner as a specialist Training Centre.
These include Dinghy Level One, Two and Three, in addition to Dinghy Seamanship skills and sailing with spinnakers.
They can also offer the Youth Sailing Scheme courses from stages 1-4, as well as Level One and Two Powerboat qualifications and a Safety Boat Course.
The school continues to enjoy a phenomenal amount of Sailing success under the guidance and leadership of international competitor, former pupil and programme leader Max Todd, with squad members consistently securing regional, national and international success.
Anyone interested in booking their place on any of the sessions should email Mrs Blomeley at PBlomeley@rydalpenrhos.com for more information.
