A group of talented sailors at Rydal Penrhos continued their impressive recent form as part of a regional competition.
Four members of the school’s thriving programme travelled to Holyhead Sailing Club to compete at the second leg of the North Wales Club Youth Racing Circuit series, which took place on Saturday, June 23.
The Year 5 duo of Freddie MacLaverty and Cieran Milligan produced another superb showing in the highly-competitive General Handicap Fleet, steering their RS Feva XL boat tremendously throughout to finish in second spot, and there was further success from a Rydal Penrhos perspective as Aidan Skinner secured third place in his Laser Radial.
Rounding off the achievements was Year 7 star Zac Roberts, who continued his excellent recent progression with a third-place finish in the Optimist Gold Fleet.
The squad will now begin preparing for the next leg of the CYRC at Red Wharf Bay Sailing Club on Saturday, July 7 as they go in search of further accolades throughout what is sure to be a busy summer of action.
