A talented sailing duo at Rydal Penrhos continued their sensational recent success with a national honour.
Ewan Luke and Zac Blomeley, who are both Year 11 pupils at the school, came away with the regional award for finishing as top Welsh boat at the Regional RYA Youth National Championships, which were held earlier this month.
The pair turned in another outstanding display throughout the weekend and emerged with the trophy, which adds to a number of recent accolades since their seamless transition to the new boat.
They are now ranked number one in the UK in the Youth 29er Class, and they were recently selected to train with Great Britain head coaches and 49er/FX sailors at a high-profile invitational squad training scheme.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Ewan and Zac continue to show why they are regarded as two of the most promising young sailors anywhere in the country, and the sky is the limit for them if they continue to progress at a rapid rate.
“Our sailing programme is unique and has brought with it a host of regional, national and international successes in recent years, which is a testament to the talent we have here at Rydal Penrhos and the hard work our staff put in to aid the development of our young stars.”
