A large number of talented swimmers at Rydal Penrhos are in the final stages of planning ahead of a major competition next week.
The school will be hosting an IAPS Gala on Monday, February 6, which will see teams descend on the pool for what should be a highly competitive afternoon of action.
There will be four categories at the event, which will feature under 10-13s battle it out for bragging rights.
Head of Swimming Maciej Ruszkowski revealed details of his squad on Thursday, with the U10 and 11 category looking for further success after turning in medal performances at the Urdd National Gala recently.
Ethan Akroyd, James Gilman, Liam Farrell, Cieran Milligan, Grace Tavernor, Pippa Roberts and Isabella Peevor will make up the U10 squad, with the U11s featuring Zac Roberts, Laurence Richardson, Matthew Stubbins, Ruby Merrick, Ella James and Arianna Milligan.
Child prodigy Osca Clark will be looking to make a huge impact in the U12 category, which will also feature John Williams, Emily Thomas, Henry Battersby, Alys Peake-Jones and Emily Stubbings.
The U13 side also look set for success with a strong line-up that includes Tom Hughes. Josh Peevor, Emily Madden, Lydia Gilman, Benjamin Purcell and Bella Rutherford.
Mr Ruszkowski, said: “Training has been going very well in the build-up to the Gala, so I am confident that each pupil will give a good account of themselves.
“They will be testing their ability against some of the best schools in the country and we are looking forward to welcoming them all to Rydal Penrhos.”
The Gala is set to begin at 2pm and all pupils are welcome to attend.
