Aspiring Preparatory School rugby stars turned in an accomplished display to secure a narrow victory recently.
The Year 4 side at Rydal Penrhos took the trip to Stonyhurst for a special fixture, and they produced a superb effort to emerge victorious by a narrow 8-7 score-line.
There were a host of outstanding individual displays during the triumph, with Shane Ayeni continuing his exceptional recent run of form with another blistering showing that produced a series of tries to aid his side’s cause.
Other performances of note came from James Davies, Harry Nurse, Grayson Williams, Noah Roberts and Felix Griffin, with the whole side contributing to the triumph thanks to their exceptional work ethic and desire to achieved their goals as a unit.
This is the latest in a series of superb victories from the year group, who played a significant role in Rydal Penrhos retaining the Cooper Cup against Colwyn Bay for a fourth year in succession earlier this year.
Head of Boys’ Games Jamie McLeod, said: “This was an outstanding display of determination and quality from a group who are still developing all the time, and this bodes very well as they look to progress both individually and as a side in the weeks and months ahead.
“Their attitude is first class not only on the rugby field, but throughout all areas of life at Rydal Penrhos and they can be enormously proud of this result and their overall progress.”
