Preparatory School rugby stars turned in another outstanding performance in a recent competitive fixture.
Rydal Penrhos’ U11 side welcomed Liverpool College on Friday, March 8, which saw a mixture of Year 5 and 6 pupils join together in the pursuit of victory.
The home side got off to a good start and notched the first try of the game when Louis Walkden-Williams finished off a fine team move from close range, with skipper Cieran Milligan adding the extras.
This was swiftly followed by another outstanding attack which resulted in Nathan Richards crossing the white wash, with Cieran also dotting over for their third score of the first period.
A superb solo run from Rupert Barrington-Chance saw him towards the end of the half, giving the hosts a comfortable 28-0 cushion at the interval.
After the break saw Rydal Penrhos immediately add to their tally thanks to a try from Dominic Chamberlain, but the visitors kept plugging away and responded well with a score of their own.
The home side bounced back quickly with Cieran going over yet again for his second try of the game, and Rupert also helped himself to his brace late on to round off the scoring in a very impressive 49-7 triumph.
Head of Boys’ Games Jamie McLeod, said: “Our U11 side have all developed their skills considerably as a unit over the course of the season so far, and they all deserve a tremendous amount of credit for their performances and the way they have conducted themselves throughout.
“Hopefully this is just the start of things to come from them in terms of what they can go on to achieve in the future, and they are a privilege to be involved with.”
