A number of Rydal Penrhos pupils were part of the RGC Age Grade sides in action last weekend.
No fewer than five hopefuls turned out for the U18 and U16 teams as they tested their skills against prominent opposition in the form of Newport Gwent Dragons and Cardiff Blues North.
The U18 side continued their WRU Age Grade campaign with a 34-15 loss at Dragons, with the home side racing to a 29-10 half time lead after a series of fine scores.
Credit to the visitors, they continued to find a route back into the contest, with senior squad member Dan Owen impressing despite the overall score.
Also in the lineup were Head Boy Adam Sabri, Henry Davies and Euan Humphreys.
Sean Hughes and Jack Jones were part of the Gogs’ U16 squad that fell to a 39-12 reverse against a strong Blues outfit, which was held at the home of Principality Premiership side Merthyr.
Pacey winger Hughes caught the eye in his first outing for the North Wales regional side after being selected to the squad earlier this season.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “It was great to see so many of our pupils involved with RGC once again, which further highlights the benefit of our Rugby Academy partnership.
“All six pupils gained another valuable experience against some of the best young talents in the country, which will stand them in good stead as they look to progress their game in the future.”
