A talented rugby player at Rydal Penrhos gained further representative honours as part of the RC U16 side last weekend.
Fin Hare, a Lower Sixth Form pupil at the school, started for the young Gogs’ in their Regional Age Grade championship clash at Cardiff Blues North on Sunday, February 10.
The sports scholar, who also represented Colwyn Bay Rugby Club at youth level, produced an encouraging display throughout the hard-fought encounter, which resulted in RGC suffering defeat despite a spirited effort.
This is just one of many impressive squad selections from the pupil, who is benefitting enormously from Rydal Penrhos’ sports scholarship programme as well as specialist coaching from both RGC and Colwyn Bay coaches.
He has been at Rydal Penrhos for more than a decade and has emerged as one of the key figures within the First XV and senior 7s squads, and also attended a training camp in Berline last year as part of his involvement with the German U18 set-up.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Fin has come on leaps and bounds thanks to the programme we offer to our sports scholars here at Rydal Penrhos, and it is great to see all his hard work bringing significant rewards.
“He has a great attitude both academically and in a sporting environment, and Fin has reached a number of outstanding milestone over the last 18 months for which he deserves an enormous amount of credit.”
