Rugby Sevens stars at Rydal Penrhos will be looking for further success at a major tournament this weekend.
The U18 side will travel to Birkenhead to compete at the Quilter Cheviot North of England 7s tournament, which is one of the primary stops on the way to the Rosslyn Park showcase later this year.
Despite missing the influential Dan Owen due to his selection for the Wales U18 training squad, Director of Sport Allen Boyd has announced a strong squad ahead of the tournament, which will take place on Sunday, March 12.
Head Boy and RGC Academy star Adam Sabri will captain the side, and he will have a host of other players with regional experience to call on as Rydal Penrhos looks to make an impact in the tournament.
Euan Humphries has also been involved in some high-profile tournaments with the Gogs in recent months, while Jack Jones and Sean Hughes have made telling contributions as part of the RGC U16 set-up.
Lancashire U17 squad member Kieron Brogan will also take his place in the line-up, as will Henry Maitland-Davies after narrowly missing the cut to be included in the Welsh squad.
Tawanda Harris, Harry Dean, Alex Benfield and Josh Thomas are also expecting to play key roles.
The squad geared up for the tournament with a strong showing at the Cheshire 7s this week, where they reached the semi-final stage after notable triumphs over Bishop Heber School and St Anselm’s College, before being narrowly edged out for a final berth by King’s School Macclesfield.
