A Rydal Penrhos pupil has been named in the RGC U16 side for a huge fixture this weekend.
Sean Hughes, a Year 11 pupil at the school, will start his third consecutive game for the young Gogs as they take on Ospreys West at Parc Eirias on Sunday, February 19.
The pacey winger has impressed considerably during his short time with the squad despite having no regional experience prior to the set of fixtures against prominent sides from South Wales.
Hughes, aged 15, has been described by Director of Sport Allen Boyd as “the fastest pupil in school” and has rose to prominence in just a few short months thanks to his efforts with Rydal Penrhos’ senior XV and 7s sides.
Mr Boyd, added: “Sean has made great strides despite his inexperience, which speaks wonders for both his willingness to learn and natural ability.
“He has done all his development at Rydal Penrhos as he has no club affiliation so it is quite significant from our point of view, and it is great to see him showcasing his immense talent in the RGC youth set-up.”
Kick-off for Sunday’s contest is set for 1pm.
