Rugby Sevens stars at Rydal Penrhos performed well at a prestigious tournament.
The first team travelled to South Wales for the Christ College Brecon 7s tournament last weekend, and they turned in a number of eye-catching performances to make it through to the Bowl final.
In difficult conditions, the group took on the hosts in the final, and put up a valiant effort before losing 10-5 in sudden death after the sides could not be separated in normal time.
Despite missing Dan Owen and Henry Maitland-Davies due to their Wales U18 squad selection, the group performed well throughout the tournament, with Head Boy Adam Sabri producing a number of impressive displays.
Others that caught the eye were RGC U16 pair Sean Hughes and Jack Jones, while the likes of Tawanda Harris, Kieron Brogan, Nick Dundee and Euan Humphreys all put in encouraging efforts.
The side will look to take this positive momentum into a series of upcoming tournaments in the build-up to the Rosslyn Park 7s later this year.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “This was a very pleasing result in adverse weather conditions which made things difficult for every side taking part, and every member of the squad can be please with their performances.
“This is a busy time of year for Rugby 7s, and if our U18 squad can maintain this level of commitment then further success will not be too far away.”
