A former Rydal Penrhos pupil will be playing one of the UK’s biggest festivals as part of his chart-topping group Catfish and the Bottlemen.
Rob Hall, who left the school in 2011, will be taking the stage with the Llandudno four-piece at the annual Isle of Wight festival, will be held from June 8-11.
Also confirmed for the extravaganza are the Kaiser Chiefs, Clean Bandit and Texas, with other big names set to be announced in due course.
It promises to be another busy summer for the group, who topped the UK Album chart with their second release entitled The Ride.
They recently completed a tour of the United States and Japan, with plenty more dates to come for a band that are currently riding on the crest of a wave.
The ex-pupil recently donated a poster and signed drumsticks to the Friends of Rydal Penrhos Christmas Auction, which now sit proudly in the office of new Headmaster Simon Smith.
Director of Music Pete Williams, said: “Catfish and the Bottlemen have quickly emerged as one of the elite live acts in the entire country, which is a testament to their talent and hard work.
“Rob is an exceptionally gifted drummer who continues to have strong links with us here at Rydal Penrhos, and we are all immensely proud of his achievements.”
