The Rydal Penrhos community is taking part in a special Christmas initiative in aid of two very worthwhile causes from the region.
Staff, pupils and those associated with the school are currently donating a variety of different items as part of their Reverse Advent, with everything collected split between the Colwyn Bay Foodbank and Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan.
Both Prep and Senior sites are getting involved in the drive, which is collecting food and toys right up until the end of term on Wednesday, December 19.
The Reverse Advent idea is simple; instead of opening the door to a chocolate or picture, you do the giving.
People put aside a donation each day of advent, so they have a collection of goods ready to drop off in time for Christmas.
English and Drama teacher Fiona Earle, said: “Last year we managed to collect a significant amount and we are hoping the Rydal Penrhos community is equally as generous this time around.
“Christmas can be a difficult time for struggling families or those spending it in Hospital, so it only seems right to help their cause in some small way at a time when their predicament can easily be forgotten.”
Anyone wishing to donate items can do so by leaving items in boxes situated in the Prep School Common Room, Senior Common Room, the Bursary and the Kitchen common room.
