A talented Preparatory School quartet have been acknowledged for their application to their extra-curricular studies with exam grading success.

The four Rydal Penrhos pupils picked up five certificates between them as a result of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music assessments, and they each received their accolades at the school’s weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, September 15.

Year 4 pupil Lucy Ranales-Griffiths picked up two awards in the form of her Prep Music Test and Grade 1 Piano examination during what was an extremely busy summer for the multi-talented eight-year-old.

Year 6 star Cerys Williams produced an outstanding effort to earn a Distinction in her Grade 2 Singing assessment, while Keira Luke managed to achieve the same fantastic mark in her Grade 1 Music Theory test.

Rounding off the awards was Fflur Pierce, who secured a merit from her Grade 1 Music Theory exam, and all four are now working hard in various disciplines in the hope of further recognitions in the coming weeks and months.

Director of Music Pete Williams, said: “It has been a summer of terrific success for our ABRSM candidates, who have dedicated a great deal of the summer break in making improvements across all levels.

"This fantastic dedication to their craft has not only brought with it a series of standout results, but will also serve each of them very well as the academic year goes on.”
