In the lead-up to our Open Morning events in April, we will be taking a look at the pupils that make Rydal Penrhos such a fantastic place to live and learn.
The latest Prep School pupil under the spotlight is Liam Farrell.
Name: Liam Farrell
Year group: 2018 Leaver
Pupil status: Prep
Following in the footsteps of two brothers could be a daunting task for some, but it is one that has not phased Liam in the slightest.
The Deputy Head Boy has emerged as one of the Prep School’s shining lights after enrolling in Kindergarten in 2010 thanks to the incredible application he has shown and the support he has received from staff in a wide range of academic and co-curricular areas.
Liam is no stranger to success on the water with a host of Sailing accolades, and was one of the youngest selected to the RS Feva UK Class National Squad for their winter programme after performing well throughout the selection process, while also being part of the Welsh set-up alongside brother Kevin.
He was one of the individual qualifiers from Rydal Penrhos that competed at the Urdd National Swimming Gala in Cardiff earlier this year, while also aiding a number of relay sides to regional success.
Head of Boys’ Games Jamie McLeod has rewarded the pupil for his leadership qualities with the distinction of Rugby captain, and Liam will be looking to guide Rydal Penrhos to Cooper Cup success over Colwyn Bay for the fourth year in succession.
Another co-curricular opportunity offered by the school that Liam has taken advantage of is within Music, with the pupil achieving a host of grading triumphs administered by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, while also featuring heavily in the various concerts put on by Rydal Penrhos throughout the year.
Liam is also thriving academically thanks to the work being done in the classroom with support of staff at the school, and he is on the verge of completing Rydal Penrhos’ Spelling Challenge after successfully completing all but two levels.
Rydal Penrhos will be holding Senior and Prep Open Morning events on Friday, April 26 and Saturday 27 from 9.30am, and to book your place contact Admissions Officer Jenny Marsden on 01492 530155 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
