Rydal Penrhos Prep School pupil Sophie Edwards gives a detailed account of the recent Year 6 trek up Snowdon in a special blog:
On Wednesday, May 22, the Year 6 group walked up Snowdon.
We were put into three groups and then set off on the pig track as we looked to reach the top, but weather conditions were not ideal which meant it was going to take a big effort from everyone.
All the groups stopped at points on the way up for a much-needed rest, which saw some leapfrogging of places each group wanted to make it to the summit first.
Although we were all tired, it was a lot of fun.
We had another break when we got to the zigzags, which is one of the most difficult parts of the trek, but it wasn’t long before we got our breath and headed off again for the last stage.
We all pushed through and showed great effort and determination, which saw us all reach the top of Snowdon at different times.
I would like to say well done to everyone for getting through it and encouraging each other all the way, to all the teaches for their helps and to Mrs Pyves for letting me write this reports on the experience.
