A number of Preparatory School pupils have been appointed to prominent positions for the remainder of the academic year.
Rydal Penrhos Prep School Head Alison Hind revealed the 10-pupil School Council during their weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, November 10, with each receiving a special badge acknowledging their new roles.
The group will attend regular meetings with Mrs Hind and other staff, where they will have the opportunity to voice their opinions regarding the issues surrounding the school, in addition to requesting specific improvements and discuss what is currently working throughout the site.
They will all act as the overall pupil voice and will express this under the support and guidance of dedicated teaching and support staff.
Tomas Milligan and Charlie Lister-Brookes have been selected as the Year 3 representatives, with James Davies and Sophie Morris chosen from the Year 4 group.
Year 5 will also have a considerable presence in the form of Lucy Ranales-Griffiths and Rupert Barrington-Chance, and the Council will have four Year 6 pupils after Head Boy Ellis Lister-Brookes, Fflur Pierce, Rana Abou-Samra and Cieran Milligan chosen from 6CC and 6JM respectively.
Mrs Hind, said: “The School Council is an enormously important part of day-to-day life here at Rydal Penrhos, and is essential that pupils’ concerns and thoughts receive a proper and consistent voice.
“This year’s School Council appointments are also very well respected within their peer groups and fantastic ambassadors for Rydal Penrhos, so I am confident they are going to bring a great deal to their respective positions.”
