A special event will be taking place at Rydal Penrhos next week for anyone wishing to join the team for the school’s next visit to Uganda.
The school will be hosting a Parent and Student Information Evening ahead of their next charity mission to the country on Thursday, September 27 in the Carnegie Room from 6-6.45pm.
During the event there will be a presentation from programme co-ordinator and Head of Middle School Paul Sanders, where he will outline the details of the trip, the specific programme of events.
Mr Sanders and Head of Geography Fleur Jones will also be answering any questions that parents or pupils have regarding their mission, including the overall cost of the Uganda trip next summer.
The trip is open to any pupils in Years 10-13, and deposits will be required before the half term break to secure places.
This latest charity mission is set to continue Rydal Penrhos’ outstanding work in the country, which saw their fundraising efforts contribute significantly to the re-opening of a school in Rwamahano, which was forced to close several years ago due to extensive damage to the site.
A team from the school has visited the facility during their charity missions in 2015 and 2017 to help with the repairs.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “We are enormously proud of the charity work we have done so far throughout parts of Uganda, and it is a truly rewarding and unforgettable experience for anyone that has been fortunate enough to have been part of our trips to the country in the past.
“Hopefully next summer’s mission will be equally as memorable for the next generation of Rydal Penrhosians in the team.”
Anyone that is unable to make the information evening but is interested in going on the trip should contact Mr Sanders or Miss Jones for more information.
