An overseas pupil at Rydal Penrhos is celebrating after earning the right to continue their education in the UK.
Borys Nadykto, a Lower Sixth Form pupil at the school, will now get the opportunity to head to University after exceeding requirements in their International English Language Testing System assessment, which they sat recently.
The (IELTS) assesses and measures the language proficiency needed for an academic, higher education environment where English is used as the language of communication.
Test takers receive scores on a band scale from 1-9, with the majority of universities requiring an overall band score of 6.5 to satisfy university entrance requirements.
The 16-year-old scored an impressive eight overall, which included and 8.5 and nine score in Listening and Reading respectively.
This was followed up by a seven mark in Writing, and Borys ended the assessment with an eight in the Speaking section.
