Netball round-up: January 24

Head of Girls' Games Nicky Head gives you a rundown of the latest Netball action here at Rydal Penrhos, as a number of year groups took on St Edward's College.

On Saturday there were Netball fixtures at St Edward’s College.

The U16 game involved strong play with good linking between players down the court, ending with the ball in the D and some excellent goals scored by Anna Parry-Williams.

The defence throughout the game was strong, but due to the height advantage of the opposition, the game ended in St Edward’s winning.

Sydney Johnson got player of the match and the outcome of the result didn’t represent the great play of the girls. Well done.

The U13A team had a strong start with strong passing down the court by Eve Durrans and Charlotte Hourihane.

As the game progressed Maddie Fardoe and Ruby Merrick had chances to score. The team kept strong when defending with the game ending in defeat with Eve gaining player of the match.

The first half in the U12 match saw some strong passes by Caitriona Searl, Lily Davis and Ella James, and some excellent defending by Jasmin.

In the second half we scored some good goals through Lily Davis and Naina Babbar but the final score was 7-11 to St Edward’s.
