Netball: Talented duo make their mark as part of Eryri squads

A pair of Netball stars at Rydal Penrhos have been marking their mark on the regional scene with a pair of impressive squad selections.

Soumini Peeka and Anna Parry-Williams have been selected to the U18 and U14 Eryri squads after a series of fine performances.

Year 9 pupil Anna turned out for the North West Wales region in a recent Welsh U14 inter-counties tournament held in Bangor last weekend, and gave a good account of herself against some quality opposition throughout.

In further good news for Rydal Penrhos’ netball department, captain and upper sixth pupil Soumini has been selected to travel to the Welsh U18 inter-counties tournament as part of the North West Wales team.

Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Both Anna and Soumini have worked very hard to earn these selections, which are both richly deserved.

“To have our captain representing the regional side is a great source of inspiration to our pupils, while Anna continues to enhance her reputation as one of the most gifted young players in the area.

“Hopefully this success is a trend that continues long into the future and everyone at Rydal Penrhos is extremely proud of both girls for their achievements so far.”
