Netball: Keira & Sophie handed captaincy roles

Two Preparatory School pupils have been presented with roles of responsibility ahead of the Netball season.

The duo were presented with their respective honours by the Reverend Nick Sissons at Rydal Penrhos’ weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, September 28 after being selected by Head of Girls’ Games Jude Pyves.

Year 6 pupil Keira Luke has demonstrated tremendous leadership qualities both on-and-off the court during her time at the Prep School, and she will lead the U11 side in her role of captain during a busy series of fixtures for the group.

She will be ably assisted by the enthusiastic and talented Sophie Edwards, who will work with the skipper in her new role as Vice-Captain.

Both Keira and Sophie will be looking to continue Rydal Penrhos Prep School’s excellent tradition of Netball success throughout the campaign, something that has resulted in a wealth of strong performances at regional and national level.

Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Keira and Sophie are a credit to everyone here at Rydal Penrhos, and I am confident they are going to be a huge asset in their new roles within the Netball programme.

“Both embody everything that is good about our Prep School across all areas, and they have emerged as well-respected members of their peer group and outstanding role models to our younger pupils.”
